Pros about being a jehovah's witness

can you personally think of any pros of being a jws?

anything that you have experienced that was and still is beneficial to you now from when u were a jw?.

There's some pros to be fair. While I no longer agree with all of the WT's doctrines, their literature is simple enough to assist someone in grasping a basic and working knowledge of what's in the Bible. Granted the literature has a hidden agenda, but it is simplified enough for the individual who is completely unfamiliar with the Bible.

I like being indifferent to holidays as it saves me money and unnecessary aggravation. I don't feel as if I'm missing out on anything by not participating in holidays and I have a small measure of gratitude towards to the WT for that.

The political neutrality as taught by the WT has some flaws to be sure. However I like the fact that when one wakes up to the WT's nonsense, they can take a fresh new to politics and non-biased view towards political and social issues as opposed to being raised Lefty or Righty. As a born in dub, I don't feel any connection towards Dems or Repubs, matter fact I hate all of them equally. For that as well I feel some gratitude towards the WT.

I'd love to see the Patriots take it this year, but it's too hard to tell this early. The AFC is up for grabs. The NFC is between Green Bay and New Orleans, and if I had to pick one, I'd take Green Bay, but Breeze and NO can surprise you. Time will tell I guess. By the way, I love my man Romo, but DAllas needs to reexamine their organization. The same with Oakland, rest in peace Al Davis.

the first century brothers are on the cover, going door to door with what look like leather messenger bags.. the first article is entitled, are all "christians" christian.

and you can tell by the picture that anyone with a beard or goatee is definitely not a real christian.. the next article, remain in my word has this quote that condemns catholics but seems eerily close to what jws believe:.

What are the worst pictures in My Book of Bible Stories?

a few comments from muddy waters and mummatron on another thread peaked my curiosity and led me to revisit some of the illustrations in the my book of bible stories.

i don't appear to have my old copy from when i was a child (thankfully), so i checked out the images over on watchtower.org where the entire book can be read online.

the images below are taken from what is displayed on that website, although it wouldn't surprise me if there are equally awful images that haven't been used.. so which of the images below are the most grotesque and inappropriate for children?

You know until this thread, I never realized the amount of visible blood, gushing blood at that, present throughout the book. They really don't have any room to talk when it comes to violent video games, films, music, or anything else for that matter. By the way, is it me, or does the WT have an insationable thirst for violence?

I always loved this scene too. He took off his robe like a bonafide killer. What a waste of a character. I would have loved to see him hack Amidala up.

That scene was crazy. The scene that I loved the most on this show was when he got in Peggy's behind. He had to put her in her place.

I got the feeling the director (Affleck, I think) was trying to outdo Michael Mann's Heat for total count of spent shell casings.

Let me ask you, is this film better than Heat? Or even Reservoir Dogs?
